Marshall Bettendorf With his experience exceeding ten years in event management, Marshall Bettendorf contributes extensive operational leadership, coupled with sales and marketing to the SHGEM team. Bettendorf’s most notable events include the successful direction of the NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championship held in Greenville, South Carolina in 1997 and 2001 and the management, as Chairman, of the nationally recognized Furman University LPGA Pro-Am Tournament from 1996 through 2003. For the past two years, Bettendorf has been the Tournament Director at the Cliffs Walnut Cove course during the PGA TOUR’s Nationwide Tournament- The BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Cliff’s. Bettendorf’s expertise led to a smooth opening of the Walnut Cove course concurrent with the TOUR event that included a VIP reception and grand opening event featuring Jack Nicklaus and Kevin Costner. For over 25 years, Bettendorf has established and maintained solid business and personal relationships with many companies, organizations, and professionals in the Upstate. These contacts will provide a reliable base to draw resources for technical support, volunteers, sponsorships, and media exposure that an event of this magnitude demands. |
